“The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” is a story described from the viewpoint of Bree Tanner, a character in Eclipse. The book will be released on June 5 and the first print order is that of 1.5 million copies. One dollar from each book sold will go to the American Red Cross International Response Fund which will then be routed to the relief efforts going into the Haiti and Chile.
It Started As A Fun Story
Stephenie Meyer herself is surprised from the publication of the story in the book form. She began to work on the idea in 2005, at the time when she was editing Eclipse. It was only intended to be a short story which would have been uploaded on her website. Later she thought it fit to add the story to the “The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide”, though the story kept growing longer and became 192 pages long.

The fans would be given exclusive access to the story on an exclusive website, www.breetanner.com, where they would be allowed to read the story online from June 7 to July 5, 2010. “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” has always been for the fans only, says Stephenie Meyer, as she expresses her gratitude for the fans for being so supportive of everything related to Twilight.
Story Of A Newborn Vampire
The book by Stephenie Meyer, “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” is a captivating story of a newborn vampire who lives in the darker side of the world. It will also be available as an e-book on June 5, 2010. Stephenie Meyer has already become a publishing sensation. She herself admits she had been working on the story off and on just for fun. Later as the story grew, the book “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner” started to explain lots of things which Bella never knew of. The book was also used during the process of making Eclipse film. The screenwriter, director and cast of the film also read the story to get to know the characters better.
A Gift For The Fans
After the manuscript of the book was completed, she heard the news that the book had become almost 200 pages long after typesetting. The publishers came up with the idea of publishing the Bree story separately so that people would know more of Bree before they watched the movie. When Stephenie Meyer suggested the idea of gifting the story of Bree to the fans since they had already bought tons of books on the series, the publishers agreed, which gave birth to the idea of presenting the book online for a month.

Can You Be A Character In The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen?
While reading The Corrections, many readers felt glad they were not one of the characters, but could easily visualize themselves making the same mistakes they were making. In the conventional sense, The Corrections didn’t have a plot, but it did explain how the characters got where they were. Take Gary for example, who was sure in his heart he didn’t want to have a marriage like his father who dominated (or bullied) his wife. As a result, his wife started dominating the marriage.

This is the Way Jonathan Franzen Writes
Although Jonathan Franzen doesn’t know how the cruise chapters work, he is aware how the first two chapters and then fifth and sixth work. He just takes a single situation and then tightens the screws for all the characters (just like short novels). He is slightly apologetic about it, but Jonathan Franzen does create situations somewhat mechanically (for you it means there is a method behind the madness). He wants to figure out a powerful dramatic situation beforehand when he starts writing.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is an upcoming romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release on June 30, 2010. It is based on Stephenie Meyer’s Eclipse and will be the third installment of The Twilight Saga film series, following 2008’s Twilight and 2009’s New Moon. Summit Entertainment greenlit the film in February 2009. Directed by David Slade, the film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg will be returning as screenwriter. Bryce Dallas Howard will play Victoria, replacing Rachelle Lefevre who previously played her. It will be the first Twilight film to be released in IMAX.
Summit Entertainment announced in November 2008 that they had obtained the rights to the fourth book in Stephenie Meyer’s series, Breaking Dawn. Though Summit has not yet officially greenlit the project, stars Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene have stated that there are plans for a Breaking Dawn film and that production is expected to begin after the completion of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.Wyck Godfrey, producer of the previous films in the series, said, “…it’s a little overwhelming to really think in a detailed manner of how we’re going to crack this, but we have every intention to make Breaking Dawn.” When talking about Taylor Lautner’s next film for Summit Entertainment, producer Wyck Godfrey stated, “Lautner will reprise his role of Jacob in “Breaking Dawn” beginning in late 2010, and it is likely that the final book will be divided into two films that will shoot back-to-back.”Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter for the previous films in the franchise, is writing the Breaking Dawn script(s).
On November 5, 2009, the American Film Market revealed the first poster for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.[40] In late February 2010, Summit Entertainment announced that the first trailer would be attached to the studio’s own film, Remember Me, which also stars Robert Pattinson. On March 10, 2010, a 10-second preview of the trailer was released online,[41] followed by the release of the full trailer the next day.[42] The trailer’s release coincided with the launching of the film’s official website. The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD and Blu-ray Walmart Ultimate Fan Edition includes a 7-minute first look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.On March 23, the second poster for the film was released. Oprah will be debuting the final Eclipse trailer on her show.

The ‘Twilight’ book series introduced 2 popular male characters that seem to go head-to-head for love. Edward and Jacob. Vampire and Werewolf. One thing the guys actually had in common is the unique relationship each developed with Bella. Some Twilighters say that Edward left Bella alone, and caused her to be hurt, depressed and broken, while Jacob was there for Bella and helped her regain happiness. However, Team Edward fires back by reminding that Eddie said over and over that it was the biggest mistake of his life and that he was trying to protect her. What do you think? And some fans argue that Jacob is rude and lacks self-control, noting that he tried to take advantage of Bella in ‘New Moon’ and then acts mean towards her and the Cullens in ‘Eclipse’. Team Jacob says that Bella could live a normal life without making any sacrifices or hurting anyone by being with Jacob. What do you think? Viggo Mortensen – The Road Interview

I (Maria) tried to make myself look pale with the face paint, AGAIN, it didn’t work as I had just come back from holiday and am all tanned :|. We had loads of good times making this, and SORRY ABOUT THE CRAP CAMERAMAN, he my 11 year old brother, not a professional, so what do you expect?

I’ve been a fan of David Slade since I watched his debut film Hard Candy, and even though his second film 30 Days of Night didn’t quite floor me as much as his debut, I still loved his visual style. With his third film Slade has directed the best Twilight film to date, it still wasn’t my cup of tea, but it was about 122354905 times more exciting than New Moon. I accept that the Twilight series is not made for me, my reaction to this film is not– omg omg omg omg EDWARD IS SOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOT, I’m team Jacob <3<3<3<3 luvluvluvluvluv……..to be honest I couldn’t give a rats ass, but seeing as this series has a MASSIVE audience (the caps lock still doesn’t do the ‘massive’ justice) it’s connecting with people.
Below is the result of me catching up with David Slade at the London Press Conference for ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’. Eclipse has already broken the box office record for a midnight opening in the US, and I’m sure it will have the teenage population going nutty over here when it opens in the UK this Friday.
How did you get involved with Twilight?
David Slade: The producers sent me New Moon, the book, and I started reading it. I’m a slow reader and Chris Weitz was signed, but I don’t think I was ever really a contender for it to be honest. When Eclipse came around they sent me the screenplay. It was mad, there was a week and three days between them sending me the script and saying, would you like to do the film? It was all very quick. Thankfully there was no dark moment of the soul where I had to think about it too much!
How did you find it directing Twilight: Eclipse? Especially considering you didn’t direct the first two films, were there certain constraints for you?
David Slade: Obviously there’s continuity, there actors and actresses have done it twice before, so the most important thing for me was to listen. I had one-on-one meetings with each and everyone and listened to what they loved about the other movies, with regards to their characters, what worked out, what didn’t work out, what they want and then we’d talk about script. After all the talking I knew exactly where they were at, as well as what I was after To that extent I was fully informed.
In terms of constraints, the reason they got different directors was to have a different aesthetic. I was just so immersed in making the film that it became my own film, by virtue of it being in my head so much. If anything I was encouraged to do more and be more different. I’m not particularly reverential. I only saw the first Twilight film once. From the very first meeting we said this was the most mature film, that is was going to be more realistic in every way. There were no constraints besides the obvious things.
What do you think the appeal is for the Twilight series?
David Slade: It’s a love story, a true love story. These days we live in such ironic times in terms of media coverage and the way that people write scripts and write dialogue, irony is such part of the zeitgeist now. To find something so unapologetically a true love story is so rare and it’s nice. It wears it on its sleeve, which is quite healthy, it’s nice to see true love as a nice thing, not to get all angsty. I also believe what Stephenie has done with the vampire is somewhat institutionalized it and made it acceptable and given it a family, something that can be pur, but at the same time at the end of the day it’s dangerous because it’s a carnivore. He goes out into the woods and rips bears apart and drinks their blood. It’s taking the unattainably dangerous and making it loveable. Those two things together are really attractive.
What was your take on the theme of chastity?
David Slade: I think we had to address it because I didn’t want Edward to come across as a prude. He really wants to have sex and you can tell he does., but he comes from a different period. I don’t think the film dictates that message. I think if anything, it does two things: it reverses the role which neutralises the men and not the women and two, in a time when women are over-sexualised it suggest that you don’t have to jump into sex straight away, which isn’t the same as some kind of Biblical chaste message. It’s more about timing and being in control
