The Twilight phenomenon started in 2006 and the subject of vampire romance became a huge hit with the teenage girls. The story of Harry Potter was due to end in 2007 and the literary market had space for a new story. Stephanie Meyer was suddenly a J K Rowling, though some people doubt if the saga would ever get any prizes like the Harry Potter series did. Though the common elements are still there, such as both the sagas are written by women and both became huge hits among millions of readers.
Saves You From Doing Your Own Research
Written by Marc Shapiro, the book “Stephanie Meyer: The Unauthorized Biography of the Creator of the Twilight Saga” is well written and an interesting read, though if you are familiar with the Internet, there are no facts mentioned in the book you already didn’t know about.
Young Adults Fantasy Genre Is Back
There are several authors who can now sell books in the young adults fantasy genre (they just had to make sure they included vampires and werewolves in the books), all because of Stephanie Meyer. Even those who did not have the background to review the books read them and got hooked pretty quickly.
An Easy Read
The reviewers felt the books were an easy read and even ESL students were able to finish it in a weekend, whose reading skills were at the level of Grade 3. Other readers at the same level also finished the book without any trouble at all. Though some suggest the novel is slow moving, the popularity of the novels might be explained on the basis of the fact if the kids get hooked to the story early, they might wait patiently till the end. The girls are extremely excited about the book, and their reading habits have also improved considerably as a result. One could easily notice the girls reading under the trees and sharing their personal copies with their friends.
Not Much Scope For The Biography
The author says Stephanie Meyer got the idea of the book from a dream. A list of music was being played as she wrote the book. The book also gives a lot of information on the making of the films based on the book, and the revelation that Stephanie Meyer has ideas for many more novels will also please the fans. There was not much scope for the biography though, because Stephanie Meyer is only in her 30s, and she had not had a very eventful life (good for her).

Can You Be A Character In The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen?
While reading The Corrections, many readers felt glad they were not one of the characters, but could easily visualize themselves making the same mistakes they were making. In the conventional sense, The Corrections didn’t have a plot, but it did explain how the characters got where they were. Take Gary for example, who was sure in his heart he didn’t want to have a marriage like his father who dominated (or bullied) his wife. As a result, his wife started dominating the marriage.

This is the Way Jonathan Franzen Writes
Although Jonathan Franzen doesn’t know how the cruise chapters work, he is aware how the first two chapters and then fifth and sixth work. He just takes a single situation and then tightens the screws for all the characters (just like short novels). He is slightly apologetic about it, but Jonathan Franzen does create situations somewhat mechanically (for you it means there is a method behind the madness). He wants to figure out a powerful dramatic situation beforehand when he starts writing.

The success of the first novel in the series, Twilight, ensured that the protagonist of the book was recognized throughout the world and Stephenie Meyer herself won the hearts of numerous readers all over the world. New Moon is the second installment of the series, which dragged the fans to the bookstores in droves. The point where the first story was left by the author, right after that the male lead of New Moon, Edwards decides that the only way to ensure the safety of Bella is to leave her, but when he leaves, he does so without a good bye, and he only tells her he doesn’t want her anymore.
Nights Full Of Nightmares
Bella feels devastated and is in pieces because she has lost the only love of her life. To keep the pain at bay, she turns to Jacob Black. Her nights are now full of nightmares, and she feels the emptiness every day. She also indulges in dangerous pastimes so that she may hold on to the memories of Edward.
Feel the Pain of Bella
The author Stephenie Meyer makes sure the readers go through the pain of female lead Bella and empathize with her also. She also feels comfort in the friendship with Jacob Black. New Moon becomes exciting and emotionally intense due to return of the determined Victoria and addition of Valturri and wolves. The author Stephenie Meyer is extremely good at tying the loose ends at the end though she leaves just enough interesting bits left so the readers would wait anxiously for the next book in the series.
The Movie and Book Versions Are True To Each Other
There are many details in the book which couldn’t be included in the movie, though New Moon book and movie versions are truer to each other compared to the book and movie versions of Twilight. Most of the sentences of the characters stay close in both versions. As a whole, the book has a broody feel about it, and it captures the angst of its teenage characters very well. The story of New Moon moves slower than that of Twilight, and the changes in the small town Forks are somewhat disturbing both to Bella and to the readers. Still, there is enough action and romance so you may keep turning the pages.
Higher Suspense and Adventure Quotient
The suspense and adventure quotient in the book is higher than Twilight, due to the extraordinary life of Bella and her friends. The plot becomes more complicated as the new characters enter the picture and they add intrigue into the story. The intense emotions of the teenagers are also depicted realistically. Compared to Twilight, the story of New Moon, however moves slowly and many areas of the story are predictable.

While reading The Corrections, many readers felt glad they were not one of the characters, but could easily visualize themselves making the same mistakes they were making. In the conventional sense, The Corrections didn’t have a plot, but it did explain how the characters got where they were. Take Gary for example, who was sure in his heart he didn’t want to have a marriage like his father who dominated (or bullied) his wife. As a result, his wife started dominating the marriage.

This is the Way Jonathan Franzen Writes
Although Jonathan Franzen doesn’t know how the cruise chapters work, he is aware how the first two chapters and then fifth and sixth work. He just takes a single situation and then tightens the screws for all the characters (just like short novels). He is slightly apologetic about it, but Jonathan Franzen does create situations somewhat mechanically (for you it means there is a method behind the madness). He wants to figure out a powerful dramatic situation beforehand when he starts writing.

Very few people haven’t heard of author Stephenie Meyer and her wildly popular Twilight books. This four book series details the lives of vampires, werewolves and mere humans in a cleverly spun tale. The books have since been made into extremely popular movies and have attracted a whole new set of fans. But Ms. Meyer has written another book about other worldly creatures, and they aren’t vampires. No, her other book is about aliens, but they are just as intriguing as the Cullen’s!
Stephenie Meyer started out writing her tale of vampires living among humans with the goal to pay off her family’s van. Who knew that a quest to make ,000 would mushroom into an entire phenomenon! Ms. Meyer’s vampire story is well written and hard to put down. She has created cultures that really don’t exist, but after reading the book you want to believe they do. The same holds true for her book, The Host. Once again she creates a culture and a setting that is so completely believable you wonder if it is really going on around you!
While The Host has not received the incredible press attention that the Twilight books have, it is just as well written and intriguing as they are. In this book, Ms. Meyer draws the reader into a world where aliens are taking over the human race. However, they aren’t scary, creepy looking aliens like you would imagine. Instead they are ‘souls’ who take over the barbaric human bodies and live among us.
The goal of these alien souls is to leave each planet they conquer a more peaceful place than it was when they arrived. Part of the process is assimilating the role of humans as other members of their race find more human bodies to host the souls. Of course this means killing the human to take possession of their body, but the souls see this as a necessity. As the aliens begin to take over, life becomes more peaceful and calm.
Sounds great right? Well, maybe if you are around to enjoy it! However, the goal of the aliens is to get rid of all the humans. As a result there are people hiding out and trying to survive. That is where the story begins. A human named Melanie is trying to survive when she is taken. An alien soul named Wanderer is implanted in Melanie’s body. But this is where things don’t go as planned. Melanie’s mind is still active and aware.
This story takes you through life with the alien Wanderer trying to come to terms with sharing her host body with its previous occupant. Wanderer has never questioned her role as a soul, but now she is starting to doubt the mission as she feels the human emotions that Melanie shares with her.
Once again Stephenie Meyer has written a book that you will not be able to put down. Her style of writing is so intricate and detailed you will find yourself running through the desert along with the characters. With this book, Stephanie has shown that she is capable of writing about more than vampires. Yet again, she has created a world that is complete fiction but it feels so real.

If you are a big fan of magical mystical books, you should definitely get your hands on the Twilight book collection. This consists of four novels written by Stephenie Meyer, three of which have now been made into movies and DVDs.
What Is In The Collection
The names of the individual books in this series are called:
* Twilight
* New Moon
* Eclipse
* Breaking Dawn
There are four separate novels which follow the lives of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. These are the two main characters in the book and we learn how they first met, how they are attracted to each other and what makes their relationship different to the majority of people in the world.
These books come under the genre of fantasy and intrigue because we learn that Edward Cullen is a vampire and that he will always be the eternal teenager. In truth, he should not be so attracted to the young girl Bella because she is human and that should make her not only his enemy but more importantly, his prey. Vampires normally feed on the blood of humans but we learn that the Cullen family are different in this respect.
The whole way that they live and try to co-exist along with the human world is what makes this series of books so compelling. This not is a straight forward love story between a boy and a girl. There are some major complications along the way and we are taken on the journey of how these two people try to come to terms with their feelings and what destiny holds for them.
It is possible to buy these books individually but there is a greater benefit if you can buy them all in a collection. This will definitely make your purchase a lot cheaper and you can also get a lovely presentation box with it.
This would certainly make a wonderful gift idea for anyone who loves to read and you could buy it for any occasion.
