The Top 10 Best Vampire Book Series

Not too long ago Anne Rice was the queen of vampire fiction with her creation of the legendary Lestat.  However, in the past few years Stephenie Meyer with her Twilight Saga,  Charlaine Harris with True Blood, and other authors with their vampire creations have stormed the best seller charts.  But what are the most popular series with the legions of online vamp lit fans?

The top ten most popular (based on online chatter) vampire book series are:

10. Riley Jensen Guardian by Keri Arthur

9. Anita Blake Vampire Hunter by Laurell K. Hamilton

8. The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice

7. The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine

6. Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

5. The Darren Shan Saga by Darren Shan

4. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

3. The House of Night by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast

2. The Southern Vampire Mysteries / Sookie Stackhouse Novels / True Blood Series by Charlaine Harris

…and the most popular Vampire Lit Series is no surprise…

1. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

Not quite making the top ten were Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost, Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, Undead and … by MaryJanice Davidson, Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz, Vampire Beach by Alex Duval, Night World by L.J. Smith, Nikki and Michael by Keri Arthur, Mackenzie Vampires by Nina Bangs, and Almost Human by Melanie Nowak. The top two series on this list have also been adapted for the screen, with the wildly popular Twilight Saga movies and True Blood television series on HBO.  This can have only helped their dominance in this poll.  While great literature does not need to be adapted for the screen, it will clearly raise awareness of a series and bring in a whole new group of fans.  A Darren Shan motion picture (Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant) will be released in late 2009.  Both House of Night and Vampire Academy films or TV adaptations are almost inevitable, although neither seem to be even close to production.  If the new CW Network TV series based on L. J. Smith’s Vampire Diaries is a hit, then those novels are bound to be in the top ten for my next vamp lit poll.  And, finally, it is lovely to see that modern vampire literature icon and pioneer Anne Rice made the list, even if she was not in the top five.  Oddly, only two of Anne Rice’s novels (Interview with the Vampire and The Queen of the Damned) were ever turned into feature films.

I compiled this list by searching for each of the vampire book series on a number of search engines and ranking them by the number of web pages, discussion forums, photos, videos, etc that are available online. Read more about vampires at SpookyFiles.com.

I don’t see how Anne’s books are not at the top of the list. They were the most captivating books I have ever read. I did the Twilight Series and they were great but to be that far behind on the list is just outrageous. She has freaking college classes based around her works, COME ON!

The second episode from Stephenie Meyers outstanding prosperous TWILIGHT series, the romance between mortal and vampire soar to a fresh level as BELLA SWAN digs more deeply into the systems of the mystical domain she aches to become part of only to find herself in more eminent danger than ever before.

Following Bellas cursed eighteenth birthday celebration|, EDWARD CULLEN ( Robert Pattinson ) and his family give up the township of Forks, Washington, in an attempt to protect her from the risks embedded in their world. As the brokenhearted Bella sleepwalks through with her senior year of highschool, benumbed and lonesome}, she discovers Edwards image comes to her whenever she puts herself in hazard. Her need to be with him at any expense directs her to pick bigger dangers.

With the assistance of her childhood pal JACOB BLACK ( Taylor Lautner ), Bella reconstructs an aged motorbike to transport her on her ventures. Bellas wintry affection is bit by bit liquified by her budding relationship with Jacob, an affiliate of the puzzling Quileute clan, who has a mystical secret of his own.

When an accidental meeting brings Bella head to head with an onetime nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally giant wolves saves her from a hideous destiny, and the clash makes it frighteningly distinct that Bella is still in major risk. In a race against the clock, Bella decides the secret of the Quileutes and Edwards legitimate motivation for leaving her. With more of the passion, action and suspense that made TWILIGHT a world worldwide phenomenon, THE TWILIGHT story : NEW MOON represents an interesting followup to the smash hit.

Hamlet: Why didn’t Horatio carry the crown?
Don’t you think Hamlet should have gave the crown to Horatio instead of Fortinbras? No. Because Horatio is not of royal blood; he is merely Hamlet’s friend. Spoilers, be warned, from the Twilight vampire stories written by Stephenie Meyer, this is a little more insight, through my eyes, as best as I could, into Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) and Alice (Ashley Greene) Cullen’s story of where they started out in life and where they ended up today, together. The photos are from all over the sea of the internet, except for the ones that I made myself to have Jack Rathbone looking like he was back in Civil War times. I made those myself. Having said all that stuff, I want to thank Jackson Rathbone and Ashley Greene for graciously allowing me to use their photos. Thank you. I never knew anything about the Twilight books or Stephenie Meyer before I went to see the movie. Thank you Stephenie Meyer. I love this song “Let It Be Me” and was glad I found something to put up to go with it. Thank you Ray LaMontagne, for your music (Not that it’s mine, but you know what I mean.) The beautiful song in the background is by Ray LaMontagne called “Let It Be Me”. If I need to give you credit for anything, please email me and I will be happy to. I do not own the rights to anything you see or hear. I simply found a pile of photos on Google, massively altered them, and put it together. love story vampires werewolves Reneesme Cullen coven Dr. Carlisle Cullen Forks Washington Twilight Stephenie Meyer New Moon Eclipse Breaking Dawn vampire werewolves Reneesme Jacob Black Bella Swan Edward Cullen Civil war insane asylum love romance UGH! The success of the first novel in the series, Twilight, ensured that the protagonist of the book was recognized throughout the world and Stephenie Meyer herself won the hearts of numerous readers all over the world. New Moon is the second installment of the series, which dragged the fans to the bookstores in droves. The point where the first story was left by the author, right after that the male lead of New Moon, Edwards decides that the only way to ensure the safety of Bella is to leave her, but when he leaves, he does so without a good bye, and he only tells her he doesn’t want her anymore.

Nights Full Of Nightmares

Bella feels devastated and is in pieces because she has lost the only love of her life. To keep the pain at bay, she turns to Jacob Black. Her nights are now full of nightmares, and she feels the emptiness every day. She also indulges in dangerous pastimes so that she may hold on to the memories of Edward.

Feel the Pain of Bella

The author Stephenie Meyer makes sure the readers go through the pain of female lead Bella and empathize with her also. She also feels comfort in the friendship with Jacob Black. New Moon becomes exciting and emotionally intense due to return of the determined Victoria and addition of Valturri and wolves. The author Stephenie Meyer is extremely good at tying the loose ends at the end though she leaves just enough interesting bits left so the readers would wait anxiously for the next book in the series.

The Movie and Book Versions Are True To Each Other

There are many details in the book which couldn’t be included in the movie, though New Moon book and movie versions are truer to each other compared to the book and movie versions of Twilight. Most of the sentences of the characters stay close in both versions. As a whole, the book has a broody feel about it, and it captures the angst of its teenage characters very well. The story of New Moon moves slower than that of Twilight, and the changes in the small town Forks are somewhat disturbing both to Bella and to the readers. Still, there is enough action and romance so you may keep turning the pages.

Higher Suspense and Adventure Quotient

The suspense and adventure quotient in the book is higher than Twilight, due to the extraordinary life of Bella and her friends. The plot becomes more complicated as the new characters enter the picture and they add intrigue into the story. The intense emotions of the teenagers are also depicted realistically. Compared to Twilight, the story of New Moon, however moves slowly and many areas of the story are predictable.

The Banks May Reduce Costs Through The Use Of Mobile Money

The Indian Economy is growing and the possible role of mobile money in the same may not be overstated. The author of The March of Mobile Money, Sam Pitroda, is an advisor to the PM on infrastructure and innovation. The main reason why he feels so passionately about his idea of digital wallet – the banks haven’t been able to reach the bottom of the pyramid yet. He firmly believes his idea will help reach the banks to these inaccessible markets.

iBoy by Kevin Brooks is much more than just a tale of grit or a new action hero (another thing common, the hero can’t reveal himself to the girl he loves). Don’t Read Popular Books? You Can’t Avoid Jonathan Franzen

It doesn’t matter what kind of literature you are currently into, you will have to read The Corrections at the end of the day. May be you will do it out of your own choice, or because your friends just couldn’t stop raving about the characters in the book. Even those who are truly of the stubborn kind (those who don’t want to get into the popular literature because they have better things to do) will have to read it when the movie version is released. So what is their excuse?

Can You Be A Character In The Corrections by Jonathan Franzen?

While reading The Corrections, many readers felt glad they were not one of the characters, but could easily visualize themselves making the same mistakes they were making. In the conventional sense, The Corrections didn’t have a plot, but it did explain how the characters got where they were. Take Gary for example, who was sure in his heart he didn’t want to have a marriage like his father who dominated (or bullied) his wife. As a result, his wife started dominating the marriage.

This is the Way Jonathan Franzen Writes

Although Jonathan Franzen doesn’t know how the cruise chapters work, he is aware how the first two chapters and then fifth and sixth work. He just takes a single situation and then tightens the screws for all the characters (just like short novels). He is slightly apologetic about it, but Jonathan Franzen does create situations somewhat mechanically (for you it means there is a method behind the madness). He wants to figure out a powerful dramatic situation beforehand when he starts writing.
