This is an interesting movie, and since it has Robert Pattinson in it (the Twilight hunk), it will definitely be a best-seller. But does Pattinson live up to all the hype surrounding his persona. In this movie he plays Tyler Hawkins, a troubled twenty something. His older brother committed suicide, and this is eating away at him. His parents are divorced and Tyler blames his father Charles (Pierce Brosnan) for his brother’s suicide. His father is a powerful business man and did not believe in his brother’s musical career. His father made him work for him, and soon after Michael killed himself. The only one he confides in is his little sister, Caroline (Ruby Jerins). She is a great artist, and therefore many of the kids at her school think she is weird. Their father does not support her art either, and she thinks her father does not love her. Tyler would do anything for his little sister. When Tyler and his friend Aidan (Tate Ellington) get caught up in a street fight, Tyler has an argument with a cop (Chris Cooper), who then proceeds to smash him against a car and put them in jail. Aidan finds out who the cops daughter is and tells Tyler to hit on her (Ally, played by Emilie de Ravin). Tyler and Ally become a couple and they are crazy about each other. But Ally has some problems of her own. Tyler acts out a lot, but he also tries to bring people back together and help them fix their own lives, even though his life is quite messy. He tries desperately to improve the relationship between his father and his little sister. And he also tries to look after Ally.
This movies is about human connections, and the influence one person can have on so many others around him (or her). And the effects losing someone can have on your life. Everyone in the movie deals with the loss of someone close to them. In the beginning of the movie Tyler quotes Gandhi, saying everyone touches the lives of those around them in some way or another. This quote is the core of the movie and the message that the director Allen Coulter and the writer Will Fetters are trying to get through.
Pattinson does a good job playing the confused and grieving Tyler. The character is at times violent, and a loose canon, but underneath it all he cares a great deal. Pattinson finds a way to express this very well. All his fans will be delighted to see this movie, as it is a whole other side of him. As the vampire Edward Cullen and in his role in the fourth Harry Potter movie, he was always very polished and together. In this movie he loses control, and comes off as the endearing bad guy, ruggedly handsome.
Emilie de Ravin plays his girlfriend. She plays a 21 year old great, even though she is actually 28 years old in real life. You can see the scars in Ally, due to her own tragic life experiences, which still haunt her. Her chemistry with Pattinson is great, and they make for a good couple. Another actress worth mentioning is Ruby Jerins, who plays Caroline, Tyler’s little sister. Even though she is young, she plays the pain of not being accepted by her classmates or her dad very well.

This movie is not too special, but it is not bad either. The actors are great together. The movie brings across its moral message in a non-irritating way, which can be hard to do sometimes.

In this action-packed, third installment of the modern-day love story adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s best selling novel, teenager Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself at the epicenter of danger when Seattle is ravaged by a series of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge.
Pattinson delivers some memorable dialogue without the slightest hint of irony, like when he confronts the buff, bare-chested Jacob and says “Why can’t you put a shirt on?” The tent scene is especially entertaining because Edward and Jacob are forced to team up to protect Bella but cannot set aside their jealous rivalry long enough to stop bickering over her. Jacob’s “I’m hotter than you” retort to Edward is the best line of dialogue in the film.
Melissa Rosenberg’s script delves deeper into the mythology that Meyer has already developed and offers audiences new insight into some of the characters. The Cullen family (Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone) continues to conceal their true identity while they struggle to confront the unsettling crime wave in Seattle afraid that the chaos created by bloodthirsty newborns will attract the unwanted attention of the Volturi. Meanwhile, the origins of Jasper and Rosalie are revealed through a backstory told in flashback. Rathbone, whose character is given more to do in Eclipse, shines in the expanded role. Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria and Xavier Samuel as Riley are new to the Twilight Saga. Like Dakota Fanning, who joined the cast as Jane in New Moon, they are excellent actors and their “bad vampires” roles add dimension to the story and elevates the proceedings.
Cinematographer Javier Aguirresarobe captures the intensity of Bella and Edward’s relationship in extreme close-ups set against the gloomy gorgeousness of the Pacific Northwest. Nancy Richardson’s seamless editing finds the emotional core in every scene and heightens the kinetic quality of the film without compromising the energy of the handheld camerawork. The makeup, visual FX and CG stunts are top notch thanks to a multi-million dollar budget that supported the director’s vision. The score by Howard Shore is dramatic and moving, and the vibrant, eclectic soundtrack features a variety of artists including Muse, Vampire Weekend, Sia and The Black Keys. (Muse happens to be author Stephenie Meyer’s favorite band and their songs appeared on the previous Twilight soundtracks.)
This revenge-fueled, romantic continuation of the internationally popular vampire story has everything — action, suspense, romance and danger. Audiences who have not read the novel may find it hard to sink their teeth into this PG-rated vampire romance with all its campy moments, but like Twilight and New Moon before it, Eclipse has a genuine heart and Slade has done a commendable job of advancing the storyline of a very successful franchise.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, commonly referred to as Eclipse, is a 2010 American romantic vampire film based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2007 novel, Eclipse. It is the third installment of The Twilight Saga film series, following 2008’s Twilight and 2009’s New Moon. Summit Entertainment greenlit the film in February 2009. Directed by David Slade, the film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the scripts for both Twilight and New Moon, returned as screenwriter. Filming began on August 17, 2009, at Vancouver Film Studios, and finished in late October, with post-production began early the following month. Bryce Dallas Howard was cast as Victoria, replacing Rachelle Lefevre who previously played her.
The film was released worldwide on June 30, 2010 in theatres, and became the first Twilight film to be released in IMAX. It set a new record for biggest midnight opening in the United States and Canada in box office history, grossing an estimated million in over 4,000 theaters. The Most Annoying People Online? Your Friends
The Most Annoying People Online? Your Friends
If my friends read this they’re going to kill me… because I point these out to them sometimes. It’s all in good fun! Everyone is guilty of doing at least one of these, and if you’re really talented then you can pull off two or three at one time. What am I talking about?
The Facebook Status.
Here is a list:
1. The Quote Dude: Okay, I recognize myself in this. That’s why it’s first. Everyone loves a killer lyric or memorable quote, especially if it has some sort of sentimental meaning to the poster, but reading long drabble of dead people and the chorus of a bad Lady Gaga song doesn’t make you look any cooler or smarter. And who am I kidding… all Lady Gaga songs are pretty horrible. Just my opinion.
2. The Popular One: Not so bad on Facebook, but sign onto the disappearing Myspace and this is all you see. Little girls (and guys) who just want attention. You want me to go comment the picture of you in the skimpy cheerleading garb flashing hand signs with your tongue hanging out? Two things: You look like an idiot and you need to get a life.
3. The Model: This kind of ties in with # 2. So you’re somewhat attractive and your mini digital camera loves your face. This doesn’t mean you should plaster 841,654 pictures of yourself in your album with puckered lips, hand signs, no shirt, and your new aviators you got off of eBay. You’re on Facebook. I know you. I see you way too much. If I start having nightmares about the shape of your nose I’m going to shoot myself. Seriously.
4. The Jesus Lover: Don’t get me wrong, I’m sincerely happy that you have faith in something, but updating your status with only biblical quotes and “I love Jesus” phrases makes you look like a mindless zombie. “Oh no, I broke a nail but it’s okay because Jesus has a plan for everything. Go Jesus!”
5. The Angry One: Damn it, your best friend hit on your boyfriend again so you decide to finally take action. Let your fingertips fly! Let everyone see how pissed you are with your CAPS, extensive curse words, and racial slurs until everyone sees just how much of a backstabber your ex friend is. Take that you meanie you!
6. The Need You To Know Every Five Minutes One: I couldn’t think of a better title for this one. So you’re about to play some Modern Warfare 2 online. Sweet! Maybe I’ll join, but unless you’re actually in a movie where the action never ceases, I don’t want to know what you’re doing every five minutes. Walking the dog and taking a bathroom break are some events I relatively don’t care about. Now if the dog magically dons a cape and tells you ‘there’s nothing to fear’ or a blue alien leaps from the murky depths of the toilet then type away, my friend!
7. The Novelist: Just like # 6 but longer. So you’re going to a huge MMA fight tomorrow. That’s awesome! But if that’s the only amazingly interesting thing happening, then why must you add everything else? “OMG going to the mall tomorrow to get a book I’ve never read signed by that Twilight chick! But now I’m sipping a latte, watching Oprah, and wishing that tomorrow would come faster. Txt me!” …No I will not text you.
8. The Cryptic One: “Going out with a certain guy tonight!’ Oh your mysteriousness baffles me… even though just an hour earlier you called me and told me everything you were doing tonight with Johnny boy down the street. Including how cute he is, what cologne he wears, and how expensive his shirt is. Have fun tonight with that certain someone at a certain place during a certain time. While you’re at it make sure you wear a certain pair of shoes because it’s cold.
9. The One Who Types Black: Dis iz Mizz G’Money Fabulous ‘ere wid dis ‘portant message. I writ3 wid #s. If you’re white you probably can’t decipher the intricate codes typed by these people. The only reason you might be able to read the first part of this is because I’m white and I didn’t do it right. Everyone has at least one of these people. Don’t lie. I’m a writer… reading that junk makes my brain spin.
10. The Depressed One: Everyone has bad days and everyone loves getting some sympathy from a caring friend, but most people don’t care THAT much. Especially if all of your updates are depressing. So your boyfriend canceled on you, your cable screwed up just seconds before the new episode of ‘I’m a Rich Bitch On Drugs Pt.1,’ and you have cramps. It happens. I’m sorry, but get over it.
11: The One Who Will Never Find Love: This one is last because this is the one that irritates me the most. So your girlfriend dumped you after two weeks and now you’re truly convinced that you will never find love. You rant about how much life sucks, how you want to die, how much love you gave that special girl during those everlasting two weeks, how all girls MUST be the same, and how much you fail because you’re such a nice guy. I just puked. Now because of you’re status I will officially become # 10. “Tears bleed down my cheeks as my heart breaks.”
Agree or disagree about any of these things? Have more to add? Well then tell me what you think!
